CSI Falsterbo Horse Show 7 - 15 July 2012

It was a very exciting round of the FEI Nations Cup™ in Falsterbo. Great Britain, Sweden and France all had 12 faults each after all of the eight nations had ridden their two rounds.

This meant that the Chef D’equipes had to pick out one rider each, from the three teams for the jump-off.

The riders that were chosen all had clear rounds in the previous two rounds: William Funnel with Billy Angelo GB; Jens Fredricson with Lunatic (SWB born 1998 by Landlord out of Utriette 17843 by Utrillo-O´den, breeder Magnus Dyrendahl), SWE and Jerome Hurel with Ohm De Ponthual from France.

William Funnel was first out, he had a clear round with the time 40,75. Then Jens Fredricson came in and rode with full throttle without touching a fence, the timer stopped at 37,52 seconds. Third rider Jerome Hurel had one fence down which meant that Sweden were the winners of the FEI Nations Cup at Falsterbo.

- It takes a lunatic to ride Lunatic, Jens jokingly said at the press conference afterwards.

Jens said that he already in the morning felt that this was going to be his day and that he was super charged for the jump-off and bet all on winning. The spectators went crazy with joy when he galopped over the finish line.
