The dressage horse inspection took place and Micaela Mabragaña with Granada (SWB born 1996 by Granit out of Valencia (48) 18569 by Warrigall-Dorn, breeder Peter Lindgren) is ready to start in Pan Am Competition.
The Dressage competition is taking place on July 11, 12, and 14 at the OLG Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park in Caledon, ON.
For the first time, Pan American Games dressage competition will see teams composed of both grand prix and small tour combinations. Team results are determined by the combined scores of the Prix St Georges, Intermediaire I, Grand Prix and Special. The individual medals are determined in the Inter I Kur and Grand Prix Kur to Music. Micaela Mabragaña and Granada will be competing at the grand prix level for Argentina, which means a ‘bonus’ of 1.5 points will be added to their scores for the two tests counting towards team results, the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special.
The Pan American Games are the world’s third largest international multi-sport Games; they are only surpassed in size and scope by the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games. The first Pan American Games were held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1951 and the inaugural Parapan American Games were held in Mexico City in 1999. Both the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games are held every four years for the athletes of the 41 PASO member nations, in the year preceding the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games.
