"Beginning the evening session, Reed Kessler, of Armonk, NY, rode Ligist to victory in tonight's $31,000 International Open Jumper 1.50m class held just before the Puissance. In a faults converted format, Kessler and Ligist jumped clear and completed the course in 54.220 seconds.
Kessler beat out Nick Dello Joio and Geledimar Z, owned by Wembley Farms Inc., who finished in 55.220 seconds. Third place went to Richie Moloney and Equinimity LLC's Alsvid with their time of 55.420 seconds.
Kessler is just seventeen years old and showed Ligist (a.k.a. Goose), an eleven-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding by Levantos II, in the junior jumpers at last year's WIHS. The pair moved up to competing at the international level this year and showed in Europe over the summer.
"It has been a big step up," Kessler acknowledged. "We only got Goose as a junior jumper and that is what everyone thought he could do, but I always thought there was a little bit more in him. Every time we move him up he is great, so hopefully we will keep on moving up."
Speaking about her ride tonight, Kessler stated, "I haven't had the best week, but my horses have jumped great and I just really wanted to go out with a bang. I knew the course had been tough and there were not a whole lot of clears, but I knew Nick was pretty quick, so I just tried to make some good turns and he jumped super."

In late autumn each year, the WBFSH sire Rankings are produced in cooperation with the FEI. Based on the results of their offspring, each stallion is ranked in the WBFSH Stallion Ranking.
The Swedish Warmblodd stallion Briar 899 is ranked 11th in the top 100 sire in dressage ranking. The Swedish Warmblood stallion Master 850 is ranked 20th.

Brio born 2005 by Bolero out of Pudding on Aires x by Zuppardos Fable xx got approved on the Swedish Warmblood inspection tour. He received 38 point for conformation, 8 for walk, 7 for trot and 8.5 for canter. That gave him a total score of 54 points and approval for two years.
Brio is Boleros first US born foal and is bred by Ginn Farm Dressage and Sport Horses.

The legendary Swedish warmblood stallion Master 850 has passed away on Tuesday night 8 March 2011. He died peacefully in his sleep at the Flyinge State Stud in Sweden, where he was to stand at stud this year. Elite stallion Master 850 (by Ceylon 454 out of Bellis 14015 by Iran 533, breeder Poul Erik Lang) was 7th on the World Ranking of dressage breeding sires 2007 and 2008. 2009 he was 9th on the World Ranking. Some of his offspring on the international arean are Max, Tip Top, Vivo, Orlando, Manette, Skovlunds Más Guapo, Mastermind and Master Mind. Master was Sire of the Year 2008 in Sweden.
Eurodressage writes: "One of Kyra's fondest recollections of Master was her doing a special show with him in Scandinavia. "He loved doing his "fireshow" with 20 people holding a torch, drum music and a lot of atmosphare. When he heard "his" music, he was almost unstoppable. He WANTED to go in with or without me. I remember once in Gothenburg when we were suppose to do a show with him. I trained the people first on foot with the music and his groom Pernilla Gyllbrink was handwalking Master. He heard the music and was almost cantering into the arena with her hanging on. He was not going to miss the show.."

Liza Minelli (SWB born 1998 by Cortez out of Judy Garland 22038 by Ganesco-Dolomit, breeder Ann Kristin Karlsson) and Jeanna Högberg (SWE) won Prix St Georges.
Look Alike (SWB born 1998 by Levantos II out of Landlady 26727 by Landlord-Midas, breeder Maria Wallström) and Hannah Hurvenes Clarke (NOR) placed 5th in Prix St Georges.
